Hailey has been saying prayers at meals and bed for some time now. Tonight, every time she started to pray, Aaron bumped her pink elephant. This happened about 5 times. When you bump or press the elephants nose... it sounds like this... "A-a-a-a-CHOOOO!" Of coarse there was a bunch of giggling etc. Finally, Hailey began her "nigh night prayer." Towards the end of her prayer, she said "and bless the elephant.... A-a-a-a-CHOOOO!" She got really loud while saying Achoo... just like her pink elephant does! It was so stinking funny I laughed really hard (quietly in my head while shaking). Aaron couldn't contain himself any longer so he accidentally let out a laugh. It was so cute!!

She's been asking Heavenly Father "Mommy stay home with HAILEY, YAY!" For almost a week, Hailey has been asking Heavenly Father in all her prayers for me to stay home and not go to work. I feel so guilty! I want more than anything to be home with my daughter, but, I cannot because of our financial circumstances. I try to explain to her that I have to go to work, but, she doesn't understand. Of coarse she is just barely 3 years old and hopefully will understand soon.

She was a little better in primary today. She's a very head strong and stubborn little girl who does NOT like to be told what to do! Today was her third Sunday as a Sunbeam. She only spent half of the time out of her chair. She's keeping them on their toes! She likes primary, but, doesn't do well yet with the structure. She does like to be the center of attention. Any chance she gets she'll smile and make faces at the whole primary while turned around in her chair, etc. She LOVED that they sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes..." in singing time today. She participated, sang, and giggled. She just wants to do it all.

Our lease is up at the end of this month. I spent many hours looking for a place to live, etc. For the past few years, low-income housing has been closed because the waiting list has been so long. They just opened up two complexes. I rushed down and got ourselves on the waiting list. I can't wait for regular housing right now and can't afford to miss the opportunity! We'll see what happens. Rent for the low income housing is 30% of your income. For us that would be just under $200/month for rent. It's a really nice two bedroom townhouse in downtown Boise. Wish us luck!!

I have been searching diligently for a decent job! Finally, I had the opportunity to interview with Scentsy. I was in heaven... loved their office and would love the chance to work there. Sounds like it went well! Crossing my fingers.

I got home from work and was waiting in the car for Aaron and Hay. We were going to Henry's party. Hay saw me and upset she immediately said to me: "I can't see him anymore. I can't see Him. Uncle Art, sick. Gone! I can't see anymore him, Uncle Art." She had a few tears running down her face. I told her "yes.. Uncle Art is gone,He is in Heaven with Jesus. We can't see him for a long time. We can't see him until we are in Heaven with Him and Jesus." Aaron got in the car and said "Hailey was crying uncontrollably and she told him the same thing." the crazy part is that we NEVER told Hay Uncle Art was gone! She said that on her own out of the blue. He passed the 3rd of November, 2011. When ever Aaron puts on his jacket, Hay says "silly daddy. Uncle Art's jacket!" For nearly a year Hay prayed for Uncle Art "bless Uncle Art." I didn't tell her to say it. And tonight, she blessed daddy, mommy, nana, and Uncle Art." in her blessing. I think Art has been visiting her since his death and by her comments and reaction I think that he told her goodbye!

It's been about 3 weeks since Aaron has been gone (in Vegas..) and we (Hailey and I) 've been living here in Idaho. We miss Aaron/Daddy like crazy!!!

My family has been so amazing and helpful. Amy is watching Hailey while I go to work at Target. Mom and Gary have been helping out with Hailey and letting us stay with them in Idaho City. (We're giving Connie a break :) I am grateful Connie has done so much for my little family... I'm so grateful for ALL OF MY FAMILY. We may have been homeless if it weren't for all of our family pulling together from every direction to help out. "Thank You..." your sacrifice and pure love.. it hasn't gone unnoticed! Hopefully, someday.. we may be able to return the service and favors. :)

Hailey has changed and grown so much in the short time we've been here. She's climbing jungle gyms, speaking in small sentences, refined the meaning of "MINE" and "NO." She's getting much better at potty training... we've been working on it since Christmas! Poor Hailey.. our life has been so busy the past 6 months it's been a challenge to get the potty training done well. Hailey has really enjoyed her cousins.. they play very hard every day! She's enjoying her "Ca-Ca," (Grandma) and "Gunka" (Grandpa). LOL~ I didn't teach her those terms!! She came up with that all on her own. Her very latest new phrase "I CAN!!!!!" She doesn't completely get it though... she'll say it with such conviction but it doesn't really fit the situation. But, She is trying to do everything on her own all of a sudden. Including: getting dressed and undressed, getting off the potty, out of her bed.... and the other day I ran out of the bathroom for just a second only to discover when I turned around a little naked 2 yr old looking at me giggling. (She got herself out of the bath and was sopping wet.) She's found a new love of swimming... Aunt Amy has taken her and the cousins to their apartment pool/hot tub almost daily.

I'm not a huge fan of commuting with a child, but, I'm so grateful I have a job to go to. Target is trying to work with me.. scheduling me for longer shifts and less days to make commuting and family life a bit easier. I've been job hunting regularly! Kay Jewelers in Nampa let me interview with them. I'm going to interview again in the end of the month with the Boise Town Square location. I'm hoping to find a job that I can support my family with.

I have to go to Vegas next week to wrap up some things there.. I'm glad for the opportunity to see my "honey." I really miss him! Every time we are apart for long periods of time I have a new respect for military families. I'm praying everything falls into place quickly! I want my family together and for Connie's house to sell so she can be here with us as well.

Moving Home...

I'm lying in the bed, both Aaron and Hailey are sleeping.. we're in "Ely, NV." We left Vegas last night. Thw wind was howling all night long. This morning, I'm happy it's calm outside! We're about half way home :) My transfer went thru at Target. I'm going back to my old store in Boise, on Milwaukee. Until Connies house sells, Aaron will be staying behind in Vegas to help Connie. It's going to be a long summer. Hailey and I will be staying at my Mom's until I can find a better job and move to Boise (into a place of our own.) It's going to be hard with Aaron gone :( I'm happy to get to see my family more. I really want Hailey to grow up knowing her cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and her many Grandparents! We'll be home soon :)

Hailey's First Dentist Appointment..

This morning I took Haileyto Absolute Dental on Eastern. This was her first dental experience. Babar the Elephant was on the TV which caught her immediate attention as soon as we sat down. They had me sit in the chair and hold Hailey's lower body and hands. The Dentist held her head, cleaned her teeth and put flouride on them. She was very good and they said one of the most well behaved in a long time. I am very happy about her appointment. She has ZERO cavities! They gave me a tip on getting her bottom teeth cleaned better (because of her over bite). She'll have to wear braces (like Allana just had) for her over bite/short bottom jaw down the road. She even got a new toothbrush (they messed up and gave her the one for a 5 yr old) she loved it anyway!

We celebrated Easter a few weeks ago with Allana, who was here, on Spring Break. I wanted to do something with Hay for Easter yesterday. We had Ham, Cauliflower casserole, Rolls, and Mashed Potatoes for dinner. Yummy! Aaron and I colored Eggs, Aaron hid them in the backyard, and Hailey found the eggs (very quickly)! The Easter Bunny brought her a bubble toy, and Tinker Bell movie. After her egg hunt, we played in the bubbles! It ws fun to watch Hay.. She's getting so Big! She talked her Grandparents ears off wishing them a Happy Easter. It was cute to watch.

I've been working as much as possible lately. Since we're planning to move soon, target has been very generous and given me nearly full time hours. Today was my only day off his week. This morning, a Realtor came to the house to get the process started for moving to Idaho. (Connie's selling her house) we had a great day! Aaron and I took Hay to "Springs Reserve's." it was very neat. After several hours, we came home to give Hay her nap. Tonight we stopped at "Fry's Electronics" for an item. We watched "Kung Foo Panda," then watched "The Proposal..." I love that movie.

I am now the proud Auntie of a beautiful baby boy! Nici had "Jacob" yesterday late afternoon. He was 8lbs and 9ounces. 20 and 1/2 inches!!! Congrats Sister and the Ward Family! We love you!!! I'm so happy he had such a safe arrival.. Cannot wait to move back to Idaho looking forward to meeting thhe little guy. :)

Hoover Dam

Today we got up and decided we'd better take the opportunity to see the Hoover Dam since it's only about 45 min away from our house. It was a great morning! Just Aaron, Hay, and I went. The weather was perfect, traffic wasn't too bad, and we didn't have the pressure of any schedule today! What a sight to see. It's so HUGE!!!! And, so much power that is clear to see. Great experience. When Hay is old enough to remember, were hoping to bring both girls back to see it. I'll post the pic's when I can :)

I had to beg Target for my job back (after having given and worked a full two weeks notice and being issued a final check.. Worked my "last day at Target," Then taken out of Target's system!) what a nightmare! Just shows even the best of intentions aren't secure or for certain!

Bullhead..

Last week we spent some time in Bullhead packing up the house.. So much more to get done! We had the opportunity to spend some time with Steven! We love Steven! It was so nice to have him with us. We also had some good quality time with Art (Uncle Art). We are keeping you in our prayers every day! Hailey mentions Uncle Art in every prayer! They've become pretty good buddies. We had to go to Kingman.. When we got out, Hailey was sure she would see her Uncle Art! She was sad that he wasn't there to play with her. She turns into a shy, then crazy/silly little girl when Art is around. She shows off for him by "nyaking"(dancing), turning summersaults, "chumping" (jumping), squealing, running back and forth fast as she can, "kickling" (tickling) his hands and feet, teasing and (when it's empty) sitting in Uncle "Aout's chair." She's a real "funny bunny."

My last shift at Target was tonight. I'm both nervous and excited for my new job, at Kay Jewelers, in the Fashion Show Mall. Last week we had to shop so I would have the right wardrobe for work. For the most part I'm ready. :) We ate lunch at Del Taco today. We had the .49 cent bean burritos.. Hailey loves them! She had a glass of water near her plate, Aaron thought it would be funny and dumped that glass of water on her! What an eventful day :)

When I got home from work today, I saw a beautiful display of red tulips. I have a sweet husband! "Thank you," Aaron, for the beautiful flowers! I love you, more!

Hailey HATES sock Fuzzies in her toes. During every bath (lately) she spends at least 2 minutes getting the Fuzzies off her toes. When she is on the potty, she whips her feet up (one at a time) pulls her toes apart and makes sure the "Fuzzies are all done." Tonight, while I was putting Hay in her jammies, she grabbed my foot and pulled off my sock. I thought she was going to tickle my foot, or, do her version of "piddy." ("This little piggy.." for those who know it). NOPE!!! She grabbed each toe of mine with her little hands, said "hmmm.. Fuzzy?" once she looked at every toe (on both of my feet) she said "all done." I was laughing so hard I couldn't tell her to stop. I actually had tears :)

Hailey has been extra restless during the night while sleeping. She still has occasional night terrors. Yesterday,I discovered she has 3 molars poking thru! My poor Hay.. No wonder she's been crabby :(

Recently, I had mentioned interviewing for a new job. After an entire week of "I'll have Martha call you back," I thought for sure I didn't get the job I worked so hard for. Turns out they were just extremely busy and I GOT THE JOB! I got hired full time at Kay Jewelers in the Fashion Show Mall (a very high end ritzy mall). I'm required to dress up. So, we've been shopping, hoping to find some good deals! I'm crossing my fingers I can transfer to Idaho around May. If not, Aaron's going to try for work here in Vegas and I'll commit to one more year here. Wish me luck!! I'm nervous.

I don't really have any new news.. Were still planning to move. I was hoping to get a job at Kay Jewelers here in Vegas. They're opening a new store in Twin Falls in May. I've interviewed with the manager and district manager.. Took two online tests.. Was told I "passed with flying colors.." And they keep saying they'll call me back. For a week I continue to get no response. Unless I hear from them soon, I suppose it's safe to say I didn't get the job. Back to square one! Hailey has really grown the past week. She's still copying everything she hears. My favorite word she says is "Chi-Chen.." (chicken). She's so active in her sleep. Connie says she's much like Andrew was as a child. We were in Bullhead, Arizona, the other day.. During the night Hay said "boo-der" (booger) in her sleep. She didn't say anything else! I could barely keep quiet.. Didn't want to wake her. I kept laughing.. Wondering why she was dreaming of boogers. She cracks me up! I love her so much! Miss her.. We left her for the weekend with Nana. It's so hard for me to leave her :( Aaron and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary! Wow- it sure has flown by. Connie needed our help in Bullhead, so, we spent our Anniversary with her packing. Im so happy Aaron is doing so well.. Getting healthier every day. Love you sweetheart!

Today Aaron had his follow up appointment from all the blood work he's had done. The liver specialist told him his liver is back to "normal" and as long as he lives a healthy life style he will be ok. They took him off the med's and told him he is done for now with doctor's. In 6 months, he's suppose to see a liver specialist to do some follow up blood work and (only if necessary) a biopsy.. If ordered by the doctor. Looks like all is well and we can now focus on our future. I'm so grateful to all those close family and friends who kept Aaron in your prayers and who participated on our special fast. I know your faith is what helped him to recover fully and so quickly. Were blessed to have such loving family and friends among us :)

Superbowl Sunday..

We have passed a "bug" of some kind around each other the past week or so.. Didn't feel right going to church today, which meant we all sat around watching the superbowl. Hailey is getting big so quickly. She repeats everything she hears.. I mean everything! Today saw a commercial and copied it immediately after.. It was funny what she said. She's working on her potty training. What a job that is! She has a good attitude towards it most of the time. When she's being stubborn, I let her choose between going potty like a big girl, or, getting something taken away at the moment like her blanket. So far, she has done well. I'm very happy at her progress so far. Of coarse there is a long way to go before she is trained! Aaron's looking better everyday! The jaundice is nearly gone and he's getting stronger and stronger. I'm very proud of his progress.. As difficult as it can be, he's successfully followed doctors orders and is getting healthier daily! We're suppose to be getting results this week from the last two blood tests and hear what he has to do next. Hoping all is well and that he has a bright future ahead! Art (my bro in law) is going to have some testing done this week. He's been sick and we hope it goes well! Hailey says her own prayers at meal times and before bed. She's mentioned uncle art in every prayer for quite some time.. So sweet. I'm still working at Target.. Though this time of year is extremely slow.. I'm only scheduled for 4 hours this week! Ugh! Soon as we know the plan for Aaron, I'm going to bust a move and try to get our family settled somewhere and get the job situation figured out. Will write again soon. Someday I will be able to post pictures again! (I hope!) it's suppose to be 69degrees tomorrow.. Yay! Maybe we can spend some time at the park :)

Blood drawn :(

Most of you know all about Hailey having challenges with her digestive track (since birth).. We recently had to get her blood drawn for testing. It was sad.. They took at least 4 or 5 viles of blood. She did really well for the most part. She did scream when the held her down.. She doesn't like to be confined or held down. In her short life so far, she's been thru a lot already. I'm so grateful she's healthy! The few days following her blood draw she held out her arm and said "boo boo arm." Aaron picked her out a little surprise for being so good. She got a little (Hot wheels like) toy airplane, she was happy! What a Tough little girl we have.

Hailey is getting so big quickly! Hay has learned to pick up her toys.. Sings the alphabet, recognizes most letters and many numbers, counts to ten (happily) and knows most of the colors. She's still having occasional "night terrors.." which are awful to experience with her. I pray every night for her to have peaceful sleep. She's a very active sleeper! I love watching her grow. She's getting better at saying her prayers and brushing her teeth. Her imagination has increased a ton. She'll spend hours voluntarily in her room playing with her toys (often kneeling at her bed and the toys on her bed).

Aaron is doing better, slowly, every day I can see a change in his jaundice. His skin isn't as yellow and the yellow in his eyes has decreased very slowly. I never knew until he had the jaundice just how miserable it can be. Your body forms "crystals on the skin" (which the naked eye cannot see) that makes your body itch insanely everywhere while it heals!

Were Potty Training Hailey..

On Friday, we began to potty train Hailey. She has a little potty and a seat for the "big" potty. She's mostly been on the potty seat.. And she is doing great! Today, I put on her first "pull-up" (pink with princess characters on it). She kept on looking down at it and pointing with a giant smile. At church, the Nursery has a tiny bathroom made just for the nursery age kids. There's a child size potty in it and the sink is even her size! She LOVED it :) Hay is very proud when she "goes.." (poo poo, pawy, biaper.. Is what Hay say's when her diaper needs changed or when she needs to "go"). Once She's gone potty, She claps her hands and says "mama.. I did it," with a lot of excitement she gives me a giant hug and kiss. I love my baby girl! The past two weeks her vocabulary has grown immensely! She's repeating everything she hears and putting sentences together that she's never said before. This morning she asked for a "bubble bath please Mama," instead of her usual "bath, bubble, please." I'm so blessed to have her in my life! She brings a smile to my face. I cherish every single little hug and noisy little kiss. She's SO quick to apologize.. Though at times it seems a bit rehearsed.. Her little " I sawy Mama" followed immediately by a tight hug and great big kiss I know is from her heart. Every time her attitude will change soon as she apologizes. I just pray those attributes are for life and that NO ONE ever discourages her from saying "i'm sorry" or being that way! It takes a humble heart to be quick to apologize.. A gift of hers I think. There has been a few times she's thought it will get her what she wants, but, I don't always give in. I'm trying to teach her the best I can. She's been attempting to dress and undress herself.. She has a very short fuse. She's easily discouraged if she doesn't get it just right. I've been working really hard to try and teach her to not let her temper get the best of her. I'm trying to teach her healthy ways to solve frustrating situations and how to calm herself down. She tries so hard to please! What a gift she is to me. I love my little Hay hay, Boo boo, Bear, Baby girl!

I woke up at 4:30am this morning to Hailey crying and choking I her sleep. Of coarse I picked her up quickly and realized my little girl was very sick. After 4 "episodes," and 5 hours later she was fast asleep, snuggled, blanket in hand.

Today I took Hailey to her two year check up. She weighs 27.8 lbs, is Inches tall, and her head is still 19 inches. She's in the 90th percentile for height and between 50-75th percentile for her weight. She's very low in iron.. Which concerned me greatly! I thought she was getting what she needs. She doesn't drink near enough or get enough food high in iron. So, she's now on flinstone vitamins and I'm trying to get her more balanced! They told me when she eats meat she needs to drink orange juice with it. Apparently it helps her body absorb the iron. My poor baby.. I try very hard to get/keep her healthy and I just don't do very well. She still has "issues" with her digestive track and drinks about 3-4 ounces of prune juice every day! She's suppose to be getting 16 ounces of milk, plus juice, and water! I just can't fit it all in. She isn't aloud to keep a drink with her so it's hard to remember all the time. I'd like drinks available to her in the house consistently, it's hard to do,not being with her constantly. I just hope she's getting what she needs! It worries me all the time. She's trying to cut a new molar.. And with it has come the typical teething symptoms. Will be nice when the teething is over. She chewing on everything.

Allana is here for Christmas break. The girls are having a blast! I think Hailey remembers Allana. She calls her "YaYa and Sisa." Today is Hailey's second birthday. Aaron's felt sick for a long time now. He just doesn't have the energy to do anything :( So, like last year, I ran to Dunkin Donuts and got her (now traditional) Blueberry glazed round donut. I also got donuts for the rest of us. We ate them for breakfast.. Hailey's had a tea light candle in the center.. We sang "Happy birthday" and helped her blow out her candle. I had q fun filled day planned for the girls. Target doesn't allow

Thanksgiving...

Hailey and I flew home for Thanksgiving. It was nice to be with my family. There was tons of snow! Hailey was so cute.. I bundled her up in purple snow gear and she played and froze her little cheeks. We spent Thanksgiving at the church (the family is too big to fit at Mom's house) and enjoyed some very yummy food! Hailey had a blast playing with her cousins and roaming free in the church building. She screamed and squealed and had giant smile on her face. She had so much fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Idaho City, where she played nonstop with Grandpa Gary's airplanes. I bought her a small toy airplane for the way home and she LOVES that toy! She really enjoyed her time at Great Gram's house as well. I'll post pictures when I have access to an actual computer in the hopefully near future.

I finally got Hailey into the Beauty Parlor.

Hay was very good! She LOVED the giant mirror in front of her... kept making silly faces at herself making Lora laugh pretty hard at times!

When Hay got down, she saw all her hair on the floor (quite a bit of it). In her squeaky little voice she said over and over "Uh.. oh.." and then she said "Meh, Meh.. (mess, mess) Yuck!" Its was funny.

Hailey no longer sleeps in a play pen. When she got home from Bullhead, I pulled out her Toddler mattress to sleep on.

I was given a Toddler frame for FREE! Hay LOVES it...

The other night, I heard "Uh-oh.. Uh-oh. Uh-oh.." I went to check on Hay.. her legs and bottom were in the air, she was facing head first to the floor, and holding herself up by her arms, stuck. Her blanket had fallen off the bed and she was trying to get it and got stuck.

So far, Hay has fallen out twice.

Hailey spent "2 weeks" in Bullhead City, Arizona with Daddy and Nana. The week before leaving, Hailey was really sick (her first double ear infection) and I bought her a baby doll... her "first" baby doll. Hailey loved it.. I (Mama) missed her tons and wanted her to have some new "grown up" things when she got home. This is her doll and a new playpen I bought for the doll. She loves it! She rocks the baby 'nigh nigh,' carries it around the house, and plays with the butterflies on the playpen.

When you ask Hailey to make her "squishy face..." this is what you get:

Hailey has really grown a ton the past few months. While in Bullhead with Daddy, she started saying "Bless You (bleth you)" when you sneeze, every time! Hailey has very nice manners. She's such a sweet little girl.. with a 'tude when she doesn't get her way. We finally made it to the Pediatrician. Hailey is now 28lbs and 34 inches. Her weight/height are exactly proportionate and she's now in the 75-90th percentile for height. She's a very tall little girl.. just like her big sister. This summer Hailey discovered she LOVES V8 juice. It's one of her favorite drinks... has a glass/can nearly every day. It's so funny how much she likes it, drinks it quickly every time. She had to get caught up on her immunizations. I felt bad :( they gave her "6" shots in her legs two days ago. She cried so hard she wasn't breathing while getting the shots... but once it was over, I picked her up and hugged her and immediately she stopped crying. They put band aids on both legs... within 30 seconds... Hailey had literally ripped them off! She hates band aids. She's done pretty well.. felt a little sick. She got sick on her pillow last night. I went in to check on her. She had scooted to the end of her bed and was telling me "meh mama, meh" (mess mama, mess). She runs everywhere, is bruised on her legs and head from clumsiness every day... but is a very tough little girl. She still loves Elmo, Clifford, Cars, and we just discovered she likes the movie "Winnie the Pooh."

Hailey has a pretty bad ear infection in both of her ears. She's been up most of the night since Wednesday. Which means, I too, have been up most of the time since Wednesday. I'm exhausted! I haven't been this worn out since Hailey was first born. She's crying, hurting, and just plain miserable. I'm happy we made it to the Dr. today. I got her started on medicine and I'm praying that kicks in very quickly! Nici had mentioned "Night Terror's," in her blog recently and after doing some research on them.. we discovered that describes Hailey at night. She doesn't sleep sound and hasn't from birth. The older she's getting its easier to notice. I can't stand hearing and seeing my baby so upset and scared at night. It makes me cry.. I've really struggled the past few days with her being so sick, too. I guess it's harder to keep yourself composed when you're out of energy. Hailey wanted all the attention at the Dr's office today. Every time the doctor would talk to me, Hailey would pat me on the leg and say "Mama, Mama, Mama..." then proceed to ramble a bunch of baby talk. She was in her stroller.. I finally turned her around to look at the pictures on the wall so I could converse with the Dr. Hailey kept asking for her "Wa wo (water)" and I finally handed it to her. I turned back to get it from her (cause she only takes a sip usually then hands it back) and discovered her pouring the very last drop of a very FULL water bottle on her lap. The whole time she was grinning ear to ear. Then she kept saying "Mama, Meh (mess)" and then would say "ooooh COH (cold)." So the Dr. had to page for paper towels and I quickly cleaned it up embarrassed and a bit surprised at what she did. Hailey did get some basic check up stuff done... she's now 27lbs, 33inches, and has a BIG head (lol.. according to her new pediatrician.) They even remeasured her while filling out the chart to make sure the measurement was correct. Her head is 19inches right now. They said it's not a problem as long as it grows correctly with the rest of her :) She's 50-75th% in her height and 50% in her weight. She's doing well physically (in general) and I'm very relieved to get that news.

Today we got to church and a little boy hit Hailey in the face several times before I realized it was happening. His Mom ran over and grabbed him, slapped his hand and told him "no." Hailey just looked at him with confusion, not sure what to do. I asked her if she was ok and told her he wasn't being nice. Then, I grabbed her little hand and we walked all the way around to the other side of the building. For the very first time, I took Hailey to Nursery! I started to sit her down to the table and before I could finish... she was leaned over giving GIANT hugs and a great big kiss to a little girl with down syndrome. Hailey doesn't do this to just any kid, but, she always has when she's seen this little girl. Sorry, I don't know her name yet. But, it was so sweet. Once Hailey sat down, she started to rattle off all kinds of baby jabber... talking to the little girl next to her. She was so happy and excited to be in nursery. I left her with a big Mama hug and kiss... left the room... and had to cross the hall. I went into the bathroom for just a quick second... my eyes had gotten all watery and silly me... I cried just a little. But, quickly I composed myself and peeked in on her once before going to Sunday school. She was adorable! So busy playing, sharing, and just being happy as can be. I peeked in on her again just before Relief Society and watched her from the hall for about one minute or so. The Nursery leader's little boy followed her every where she went. He took every toy out of her hand and tried to take anything she picked up. Every time he did this, she just gave him a look like he was nuts and without any hollering she moved onto a new toy. After a few times of this I think she got sick of it... pretty soon I heard her say "no," then it became "NO," and soon she was giving him the "stink eye look" and off to the other side of the room hollering "NO!" The leader (and mom of the boy) came over and took him out of the room. Hailey was back to her happy little self hopping across the room on her little tip toes.. doing that funny little run hop she loves to do and went back to playing. I'm so proud of her... I saw her sharing and being such a good girl. When I picked her up.. the leader said she kissed "Kennedy" several times during class... think we'll have to put a stop to that. I love her!!

This has been a difficult week/end so far. Grandpa Hurst passed on Saturday night. I'm very proud of my husband... he's handling it so well. Grandpa was ready and I think he helped the family get ready for his passing. Going to really MISS him.. he was a GREAT person and I enjoyed the visits I had with him. I'm SO happy Aaron (and Hay) had a chance to see him on Saturday. What a blessing to have that opportunity! I get teary thinking about Allana... Aaron told her the news last night and I know it's hitting her very hard :( What a sweetheart she is though.. she's concerned about the family.. asking how Uncle Randy is doing and just being her sweet little self. *If you're reading this Allana... just remember what Daddy told you :) Grandpa is happy now and with Grandma... and just think of all the happy times you had with Him.* Well, I need to go.. Hailey is throwing a fit and well.. I need to take care of her :) I haven't taken pictures lately.. so much going on. I will though this week.. promise!

Hailey's vocab is growing ;) She learned how to say "Jesus," "Woah, Pete" (Nana inspired that one), and "down..." she's grown a bunch! Not sure how tall she is... I'll check when we go to Wic next.

Hailey's been so fun the past few weeks. She's learned how to pray. She folds her little arms, bows her head, closes her eyes (some peaking on occasion with faint little giggles) and she sometimes tries to say, "Amen." She's even said her own prayers with her toys. She's doing a lot more talking. Most of which we cannot understand. She has learned to count to 5... usually beginning with the number 2 and ending in "go." I think that was inspired by Sesame Street. Her eating has become a little picky... she's usually such a good eater. She now likes mashed potatoes. Until just recently, she would spit them out. She's really good at feeding herself breakfast cereal. She loves doing it all on her own! She hasn't used her potty much... tries about once a day or so... but not totally ready to potty train. She's getting close I think. She's quite the little smarty pants... when she doesn't want to be in her bed napping, I here "Mama, potty... potty" and she knows I will get super excited and rush her off to the potty and out of her bed... only to throw a fit when I say "okay, time to finish your nap." Hee hee! I haven't focused on it just yet. The weather has cooled down here. Today was only about 98 and it felt like heaven! Weird huh! We're plugging along searching for decent work and doing our best to get by. We miss home, "Boise," very much and hope to plan a visit sometime before Christmas if we can swing it. After Christmas, Hailey won't be free to fly anymore :( I haven't taken pictures the past week or two.. but don't worry.. I will be taking them again soon :) Love and Miss you all very much!!!

I LOVE to watch my Boo boo sleep. She LOVES her blankies and stuffed toys. It's too hot right now for all her handmade blankies in the crib, so... she only has three of them in the pic.

While the computer was down Hailey learned some new things. She say's "A B C," and counts "1.. 2.. 3," she now can say "YES (while throwing both hands up in the air with real accomplishment)," she said "Mom... where'd you go?" and "Dad.. where are you?" She's turning into quite the big little girl too fast. We bought her a potty last weekend and to my surprise she's "gone" 5 times! All of which were her request... two of them during her nap time. Today She pooped on the potty for the first time. Sounds silly, but, I was excited! I am very proud of my little beauty and love having her in my life! Hailey and I spent a morning on the strip last week... She really likes the Bellagio flowers. Below is a pic of her in the Bellagio gardens.

"Mama" caught the ice cream truck and surprised everyone with yummy COLD treats. Aaron ate a Bomb-Pop, I had a Sour Apple Snow Cone, Allana had a Watermelon Snow Cone, and Hailey's was Bubblegum flavored.

I felt bad... Hailey's little face was extremely chapped in a few places the next day :( We had to make her stop eating it. She LOVED it!!!

I took just Allana to the local Multi-Gen. She MADE me go down the waterslide, too! We had a blast.

For Allana's birthday, we had Macaroni and Cheese pizza (her favorite from Cici's). Then we watched "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. (a very good movie by the way... I didn't expect it to be that good.) "We celebrated with Popcorn, Birthday Cake, lots of love and laughter!

Allana has been dying to play Tennis for a very long time. We surprised her with this for her 10th Birthday. She's not 10 until the 16th of July, but, we won't have her this year on her birthday. So... we had an early but nice celebration.

Amy, Andrew, and the kids came to Vegas for a visit. They got in at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning. We spent the day together, BBQ'd, and all went to bed very tired! Monday, we headed to Bullhead to visit Aaron's Grandpa and the rest of the extended family.

It was a short few days at Grandpa's house in Arizona. We had a great time and enjoyed all the family. Wish I'd taken pictures of every one else who was visiting... it was nice to see Amanda, Royce, Aunt Peggy and Uncle Stan. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon~

Our quick trip home...
Hailey and I had an opportunity to travel home for a short visit over Mother's Day weekend. We spent all day Thursday, May 6th traveling in the car. We caught a ride with Amy, Andrew, and the kids. It was a long day home... but worth it! Hope you enjoy the pics.

My baby did FANTASTIC on our flight home. She LOVED every minute of her "E" ride (what Hay calls an airplane :). We had a very nice visit with family and were sad to leave :( Hailey had so much fun and learned so much from her many Cousins, Aunt's, Uncle's, and Grandparents (including the "Great" one's)! We love you all so much and look forward to our next visit together.

Just wish our schedules could have met up with Grandpa Sorensen :( I was sad we weren't able to meet up with each other this visit. Next time, Dad, promise!

Hailey has really changed in the past two weeks. She's copying and trying new things every day. The past few day's she's realized how to say "no" to Mama and Daddy." She's also learned if she does tell us "no," she gets into trouble, which has helped her learn how to say "sorry." She's getting to be a little big girl. She likes to help wash herself in the bath. She also likes to help put her lotion on. She still isn't walking much... just a few steps here or there. Her main mode of transportation is still crawling or walking like a bear. This afternoon, we went outside and she played in her walker for a little bit. Pretty soon... we had her out of the walker and she was crawling around on the rocks and loving EVERY minute of it! Hope you like the pics. Oh... Nana did her hair (hee hee) it's very windy today and the "doo" just fit ;)

The "woe's" of learning to walk...

Hailey pulled herself up to the bathtub yesterday morning and proudly let go, smiled at Mama, and then SMACK!!!!! Her top jaw hit the bathtub edge. It crushed part of her front tooth as you can see in the picture. She looked up at me while crying (her lips covered in broken tooth). I was so scared at first. I expected to see blood. The sound of her tooth on the tub was like a large glass bowl breaking. It made me cringe! I scooped her up and gave her tons of Mama love. I was so happy to not see any blood! Thank goodness. Her gum is VERY bruised above the tooth. She's bumped it a few times with her sippy cup and cried.. but.. she's actually doing much better than I expected. My poor baby! On the way home from work yesterday, Aaron told me she did it again! Only the second time she face planted on the floor instead of trying to eat the tub :(

Hailey took her first steps last night!!! I was in the bedroom and her back was leaning on against the bed. I scooted out a couple feet and told Hailey to come to me. She walked a full 3 steps. Hooray! I was so happy... I had her do it again. We went out to the living room and she did it again to Daddy and then Nana. I practiced with her a little this morning... we'll work on it! I am so happy :) My baby is getting so big so quickly... Mama Loves her!

Hailey's latest word is "welcome." She doesn't quite understand when to use it. She'll hand me something and either say 'here you go,' or 'welcome.' And, when she finishes giving you a hug... now instead of saying 'i love you,' she'll say 'thank you.' LOL! We're still working on when to say what ;)

I've been getting a little concerned about Hailey's lack of desire to walk. The past few weeks she seems to be getting closer to it. This morning she pulled herself up on the high chair and let go. She stood for probably 5 long seconds or so before loosing her balance. Hooray for Hay! I think she's getting closer. She tried a few more times today.. the picture is the result of loosing her balance. She did a face plant and her right cheek took the brunt of the fall. I took her outside to walk her around (it's been a week or so since I did that last) and she had a great time. We walked circles over the rocks and Nana's little wood bridge in the backyard.

Hailey LOVES fish! She say's fish probably 20 times per day. I put on The Little Mermaid movie. She was very happy to see so many fish :)

Hailey was being silly at dinner the other night. She made us all giggle. Allana couldn't stop giggling. Hailey put her pesto noodles on her head and then smiled at all of us... just like you see in the picture above. I had to get the camera!

I uploaded the pic's in the wrong order. Allana started a painting last summer and finished it while here last week. It's a puppy that is for the girls bedroom wall. Allana wants to paint some more pictures for their room. Above is the finished painting.. and below are some shots of her while working on it. She did a great job!

This week we've heard Hailey's vocabulary grow. She's been hollering "Hey, You" a whole lot and FINALLY "Hi, Ma Ma." She's even said "Hi, Ya Ya (Allana)." Pretty cute! She's a lot more interactive with her toys and imagination. She still loves to drive her big yellow truck around the house and anything that will move goes with her. She's grown extra attached lately to her binki. (we'll have to break that habit this summer). She's got a little mind of her own and knows what shes wants.. then goes for it. Oh~ she LOVES airplanes in the sky!! Anytime I take her on a walk and she see's one she'll squeal at the top of her lungs "EEEE." In Hailey language, it means airplane :) She's also been working on her manners. Before doing things she's ask "Pleath" and will always answer you with "YEAH!!!" We hear her say "Yay" and "Wow" when things make her happy. Sometimes she'll drop what she's doing to clap for herself real fast while grinning ear to ear. I love my little darling so very much :) Mommy is very proud of her. I can't wait till the rest of our family gets to see her.. (don't know when that will be) its hard to have Hailey so far from so many loved ones :( Since my car needs a new engine I don't think I'll be able to drive it home for a visit any time soon. Hailey is now 15months old! Holy cow.. can't believe how fast the time goes. Not even enough time to do everything I want with her before its onto the next milestone. I've loved all we have done so far and look forward to watching her life bloom into a beautiful healthy and happy one (I pray!). The next big milestone for Hailey is to start walking... doesn't seem she has ANY interest still, ugh! She's perfectly happy to cruise around crawling, walking like a bear, and lately she started hopping on her bottom.. kinda funny. I'll try to get some more pics etc soon. Oh.. Allana is here for the week. It's her spring break. She's getting so grown up, too. She brought her flute to play for us. She's learning how to play at school.. she's ahead of her class. It's fun having her here and Hay is loving spending time with her big Sister.

Hailey took a dive into my rocking chair stool from inside her crib this weekend. She was throwing a fit. I didn't realize my stool was up against her bed. Notice how the marks on her "owie" resemble the lining of her playpen/crib? :( She actually cried! (for at least 30 seconds) Hailey rarely cries more than maybe 5 or 10 seconds. Poor girl.. is learning what can happen when throwing a fit. (The bump went down before I got a picture) She's growing up faster than I can keep up with :) Her latest is to *yell* "Hiiiiiiiiiii" when she see's someone.. anyone really. She said "bye-bye" the other day clear as a bell... however, I haven't heard it since. She has two molars grown almost all the way in on top.. been working on those for some time now! She's still not walking.. very fast at crawling! She's been playing tons! Reading lift-the-flap and touch/feel books are her FAVORITE past time! Her latest favorite food is Fish Sticks. She screams at the top of her lungs when taken outside or on a walk. At night when she's tired, she gets so wound up I can hardly get a hold of her! She's like a hyper little bunny zipping around the house (often) full on laughter and teasing us! Her very latest trick... to babble while I read her favorite little books. She chatters in the same rhythm I read them. It makes me smile! Love her sooo much!!!

Hailey is a typical little 1yr old.. She's a smart one at that! She knows what "no" means and sometimes wants to see if we really mean it. Lol! We have our hands full with her :)

My mind has been so busy the past few months, I'm not sure what all I've written on the blog. If I'm repeating myself, I'm sorry! Hailey has quite a few little funny habits that I just don't want to forget. She wipes her mouth with the washcloth after almost every bite of food or sip of milk or juice. She's starting to really copy what we do. I've used her bib before to wipe her mouth... so... after using the wash cloth, she does it again with her bib. She knows very well her "rules" and waits until she can't see you then she bulldozes to do whatever she's not suppose to do. She'll even look around to see if you're watching before trying to touch what she's not suppose to be touching. I've always said to Hailey, when she's pooped, "Ewe.. stinky!" For about a week now, soon as she's pooped or just starting to poop, she'll touch her diaper, crinkle her nose, and say "tinky." I hope she'll be easy to potty train! That was my thought when saying the "Ewe.. stinky," and it seems to have paid off! She says "Ezze" when she wants something.. she's saying "please." When she wants to watch TV, she'll point to the TV and whine. She pats the couch, bed, or chair if she wants up to read her books. She'll give you a "nuzzle," also known as an "Eskimo Kiss." She has a pair of Elmo slippers. She'll pick them up, look at me, and say "La la." She wants me to sing her the Elmo song. I do... and she'll dance with the slippers. When I wash my hands, she'll do the motion with hers. When I give her a bath, she's started copying me and rubbing her tummy and legs with her hands. Every morning she'll say "EEHHH" over and over until I get her out of bed. She likes to say the word "fish." It sounds more like "viss." She's getting more brave... trying to stand more. She's been trying to walk with only one hand on the couch or chair, etc. Because Hailey is a typical wobbly 1yr old, she falls and hits her head a lot. We discovered when we ask her if she's okay, she'll rub her head, even if she didn't hit her head. When she's in a time out in the corner (funny.. to see) when we tell her to "turn around," she leans against the wall and slowly hits her own head! We didn't teach her that... she came up with it on her own. I think she's a bit confused on the meaning of some words and phrases... we'll have to work on that :). And, of coarse... she still LOVES to read! Sorry for the randomness of this post. Just don't want to forget the little milestones in my Hailey's life.

President's Day

We spent our morning at the park for President's day. Our ward had a picnic at the park. It was fun and very very warm! By Noon, everyone was starting to leave because it was getting too hot to play on the equipment. Weird huh? It's only February... such a change from Idaho. Well, today is our Anniversary... 3 yrs! Whew.. what a busy few years it's been. We're waiting until Thursday to celebrate... (pay day) we'll probably go see a movie and dinner. Life's going fine for us here... I have an interview in the morning at Target... WISH ME LUCK! I need a job! It would be so nice.. get us caught up financially and then I can take my baby home to see Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles , Great Grandma, and Hailey's many many cousins who all miss her so very much! Cross your fingers... hoping to make it home by summer! :)

Checking out the "New" shoes! We bought Hailey some new shoes.. she really needed them. They're from Strideright (usually $45) I bought them on sale... $14!!! I had to buy this kind of shoe cause her little square feet don't fit regular tennishoes.. (size 4 triple wide!) and they're much better for her feet growth. She seems to really like them :)

We've had a nice morning so far. It's raining really hard outside!!! So, it's going to be an indoor day for sure. We'll be venturing out later this afternoon to get some Superbowl snacks for tomorrow. I was so excited last night.. finally some Good news: my car is almost paid off!!! Holy cow.. that's fantastic.. makes us very happy :)

Hay asked to go nigh-night. I laid her down. About 30min later... I found her playing with "Violet," her puppy (that talks, plays music etc.), and dancing in her bed! I didn't catch her dancing on the video, but, she decided to whistle. She LOVES to whistle! It makes her so happy. I hear it in her car seat, bed, bath, stroller, even in church! She also sings "La La La" in church and tries to lead, just like the Chorister. She's such an active little girl. We love her so much!
